Dear Friends,

As chairman and founder, I would like to invite you to participate in the 3rd Annual Victory Scramble Fore A Cure (VSFC) golf tournament.  Working closely with The Central Florida Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and sponsored by American Reverse Mortgage, our mission is to raise funds to benefit research into finding cures for these dreaded diseases; educate participants about leukemia and its impacts on patients, family and friends; and to provide golfers with an outstanding golfing experience.  This year the event will be held at the Nancy Lopez Legacy Country Club in TheVillages on Saturday, September 29, 2007.

Our goal for our third year is $25,000 and we need your help to get there!  Thanks to you, we have been very successful the last two years raising almost $50,000 to help in the battle to find a cure for leukemia and other blood diseases.  You can help us by sponsoring our event, purchasing a hole, or just playing in the scramble.  If you want to be a sponsor or buy a hole, please find attached the various levels of sponsorship we offer.  If you want to be a participant, please fill out the attached registration form and bring it to the Nancy Lopez Pro Shop.  We hope you will do both.  Please feel free to email me at the address above with your entry or donation. 

Please make the commitment to support this wonderful cause.  Today, leukemia is the leading cause of death among young men and women under the age of 20.  Further, every 10 minutes, another child or adult will learn that he or she has leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease or myeloma.  With help from people like you, treatment advances have increased the survival rate of the most common form of leukemia in children from 4% in 1960 to 85% in 1999.  I personally have realized the new advancements in treatments being in remission now for almost three years and praying for much longer.  Many will be involved because they enjoy the event—they don’t have a personal tie.  Many will be involved because they know someone who has been affected.  Either way, those involved will have helped in the research to find a cure for these devastating diseases

As you know, The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society is a very worthwhile organization and the dollars they collect through events such as this one, go a long way toward stamping out leukemia and other blood-related diseases.  So let me encourage you to be one of our sponsors and play in the golf scramble this year, enjoying the great game of golf and at the same time know that you are supporting The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
